Migrant Integration Support

NAMCA intends to provide our members with access to critical resources to enable them to settle in as new migrants in North America. By bringing communities together and advocating for their well-being, we facilitate the social, economic, cultural, and spiritual integration of Bamasaba and non-Bamasaba immigrants and refugees into North America.

The United States has seen a significant rise in anti-migrant sentiment, creating an increasingly hostile environment for migrant communities. For many, this has translated into a daily existence marked by fear, uncertainty, and the constant threat of deportation. Migrants, particularly those without the necessary legal resources, face the risk of being torn from their families and livelihoods, often with little understanding of their legal rights or options. At the North American Masaba Cultural Association (NAMCA), we understand the gravity of this issue, and we believe that it is essential to take action to provide tangible support to the most vulnerable members of our community.

To this end, NAMCA established emergency legal support services to help those members of our community who find themselves in need. This initiative will offer legal consultations, workshops on migrant rights, emergency deportation defense strategies, and a 24/7 legal hotline. Our aim is not only to offer immediate legal assistance but also to create a lasting impact by empowering migrants with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the complexities of the immigration system.

Key Objectives:

  • Provide free, face-to-face legal consultations to migrants at risk of deportation.
  • Conduct “Know Your Rights” workshops to educate migrants on how to protect themselves from unlawful deportation.
  • Distribute multilingual educational materials that outline the rights and steps migrants can take in the event of encounters with law enforcement or immigration authorities.
  • Establish a 24/7 deportation defense hotline that provides round-the-clock support for migrants and their families.
